125 lbs: Race Weight
11 months postpartum
Taper is HERE! It’s unreal, really. You get into the throes of Ironman training and at points, it seems like it’s never going to end. I’m so happy. The heat/humidity have gotten pretty rough and I’m ready to be done, especially with all of the long stuff.
Logistically, things have been pretty crazy in the past 1-2 months. I’ve brought in extra help for my long workouts –either Tita working extra hours or Hanna helping out. Most days I get home from the pool, riding my bike, or running and quickly jump right in to Mom mode (sometimes with a shower first, sometimes not). There is no down time, no recovery time and that has been the biggest difference between my training in the past 9 months and my training pre-kids. It is chaotic and exhausting.
I’m so proud to have reached this point. If only the next 13 days could fly by in the blink of an eye.
My goal race week is to ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE. The best pre-wedding tip someone gave me was to be present. And I fully plan on putting this advice into play next week.
(Sometimes Ironman training feels like this. Am I right?)
